“Welcome back to ‘The Drive with Daedalus Howell,’ 95.5 FM,” he said at 3:34 p.m. on a warm afternoon in late March, as the red “On Air” sign in Wine Country Radio’s Studio G suddenly lit up after a five-minute commercial break. “Let’s take a quick look at the traffic, shall we? Good news! That accident we reported earlier by Third Street in Santa Rosa has almost entirely cleared up.”
While producer Aurelio Aguilar adjusted knobs on his control panel, Howell’s words flowed by as cleanly and fluidly as a long, sinuous chain of dominoes falling one after another…
